An Old Court Chapel Strangford Wedding

An Old Court Chapel Strangford Wedding

Ashleigh + Alex’s Old Court Chapel Strangford Wedding

Short Film

Tell us all about you! What do you do? How do you spend your free time? What's important in life?

Many people believe that because we both work in the digital sphere we do the same thing but we really don't. Alex is a Software Engineer and I am a Digital Consultant mentoring small businesses in digital marketing. When we first met Alex introduced me to technology, all I had was an out of date laptop! We have 3 cats who we love and treat as members of the family - Benedict; Paloma and Gabriel, we are really big animal lovers. Ashleigh’s favourite animals are cows. Her long-term goal is to open a cow retirement home!! We met way back in 2016 where our first impressions weren't very good, with Alex being nicknamed Oscar The Grouch (the nickname has stuck!)! Its taken a lot to get us here 6 years on and we are so glad we have!

Why did you decide to capture your Old Court Chapel wedding on video?

As someone who works in the social media / digital marketing world I know how important videos are, how they can capture and say so much more than a single picture. We wanted to be able to not just see the memories but be able to watch the day again and again perhaps when we are old and grey and its something to show maybe family in the future (oh woah Ashleigh wore a coloured dress!)

Why did you choose Amber Tree Filmhouse to film your wedding?

Again as someone who works in the social media / digital marketing world it takes a lot to hold my attention when it comes to video and you also think wedding video I've seen one I've seen them all but one day I saw a friends wedding video on Facebook and I genuinely stopped to watch and found it very moving emotionally and it was Amber Tree Filmhouse and I just knew I had to chat them, I wanted them for our wedding

Tell me all about the proposal! Spare no detail, I want to hear it all!

So funny story Alex was meant to propose twice before we got engaged on the 27 March 2021 and all were thwarted by covid. But we went down to Tollymore Forest Park for a walk and a picnic and we found this lovely bridge down by the water and Alex proposed. Its also a special spot because we went there after we had decided the wedding venue secretly a year before we got engaged (I like to plan)

Why did you choose Old Court Chapel as your venue? What made it special to you?

We wanted somewhere initially that none of our friends had, had weddings at and we found this venue googling quirky wedding venues. Its beautiful, peaceful, tranquil and a bit out of the way. At that point a lot of people hadn't heard of the venue and we are the sort of people who like to do things a bit differently. The theme for the wedding is nature / natural / things growing and this very much ties in with the venue too.
