A Heartfelt Wedding At The Clandeboye Lodge

Louise + Mark’s Clandeboye Lodge Wedding

HIGHLIGHTS FILM

Tell us all about you! What do you do? How do you spend your free time? What's important in life?

We met and started going out 9 years ago when both at University in Chester. I (Louise) decided to move back to Northern Ireland 4 years ago and Mark followed me home. Mark works in financial services and Louise in Medical Sales. We spend our spare time walking our cockapoo Winnie and Mark will spend most Saturday afternoons at football while I will catch up with friends and family, (usually over a cup of tea or 2!). Our family and friends are the most important thing to us and we will always have a date in the diary for the next family gathering! We are so excited to be taking this next step together in getting married to each other and becoming husband and wife!

Why did you decide to capture your wedding on video?

We thought it was really important to capture this day as have often been told it flashes past and this way we will be able to relive it over and over. It also allows us to see all of our family and friends (hopefully!) enjoying the day.

Why did you choose Amber Tree Filmhouse to film your wedding?

You recorded one of our close friend’s weddings and we had raving reviews as to how much they love their wedding video and how relaxed you made them feel on their day.

Tell me all about the proposal! Spare no detail, I want to hear it all!

Mark had planned to propose in Co Donegal, somewhere we had never been together, but I had told him was one of my favourite places and where I used to go on holidays when growing up. After a weekend away visiting my sister in Sheffield, following the birth of her first child, Sophia. Mark mentioned to me that he had planned for us to stay away in Co Donegal the next weekend. At this point I knew that Mark was planning to propose, then I said to him, while on a packed train "I know what you are going to do!" (only as it was out of character to book anything without talking about it first!) Mark played dumb and said he had booked a nice weekend away. Mark then had to change his plans and on the Monday evening after work he bought lots of flowers and decorated the living room, he then called me in and proposed at home in our living room!

Why did you choose the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel as your venue? What made it special to you?

We are having our ceremony in West Church Bangor, which is my family church, it is where both my sister and her husband got married and also my mum and dad too! The Clandeboye Lodge is both close to our home and also my family church, we often drive past it and once we got engaged we knew we both wanted to go and look around it. When we went to look around the venue, the service and whole feel of the venue made us instantly fall in love with it and we chose it then to host our wedding reception. Covid19 made us have to postpone but since reopening the staff have been so helpful with the planning of our wedding.
